We are looking for an energetic person who loves working outside, a fan of locally sourced food, wants to be a part of local sustainable agriculture, and can help our Ballard Farmers Market come to life!


Role: Market Organizing Team Member


Job Schedule: Sundays

7AM-4PM* at the Ballard Farmers Market *Note: times are approx. and can be more or less depending on the market needs that day


Job Duties:

  • Coordinate & facilitate daily set-up, market operations, and breakdown of the Ballard Farmers Market.

  • Maintain a safe market environment. Assist Market Management in duties associated with running the market.

  • Greet and engage with visitors and vendors, as an 'ambassador' for the market, with a professional and courteous manner throughout the day.

  • Assist vendors and ensure compliance.

  • Operate the Information Booth (interact with customers and vendors and process food access transactions).

  • Ensure sites are market-ready/clean at the opening & close of the market days.

  • Coordinate parking for farmers/vendors, parking issues, street closures, tow-trucks.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills. Take personal ownership of market and foster community pride.

  • Able and willing to change out trash cans

  • Positive attitude


Qualifications:

  • 18 years old or older

  • Can operate a box truck and has a valid Driver’s License (will provide training)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Can lift 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stay calm and prioritize actions when presented with multiple activities requiring attention

  • Clean & presentable appearance, including clothing adequate to weather needs and safety at work

  • Reliable and consistent attendance

  • Enthusiasm for Farmers Markets, small farms and locally grown produce


Pay: $22/hr
